Description

Deep-level underground gold mine situated on the West Wits Line, 14km south of Carletonville. Employs sequential grid mining. Mines the Ventersdorp Contact Reef. Acquired from AngloGold Ashanti in 2001. Ore processed at the Mponeng gold plant. Revised, shortened life-of-mine plan implemented in FY15 to optimise cash flow.
