European refining and chemical manufacturing rollup spanning Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom: six sites carrying 853 kbd of ExxonMobil-share refining capacity at year-end 2025 plus 0.4 Mt/yr ethylene and 0.9 Mt/yr polyethylene. Antwerp, Rotterdam, Fawley and Meerhout are wholly-owned; Karlsruhe is a 25 percent interest and the Fife Ethylene Plant a 50 percent interest. Regional refinery throughput has declined in each of the last three years, from 1,166 kbd in 2023 to 1,002 kbd in 2025, and the Corporation has announced the planned closure of the Fife Ethylene Plant with shutdown expected to complete in 2026.
