Description

Open cut thermal and metallurgical coal mine near Gunnedah, New South Wales. Early mining began with the box cut in late FY24 and contributes to the Gunnedah open cut output; the full-scale Vickery Extension Project has all required Government approvals (approved to August 2045) but remains subject to Board approval of FID; full-scale development could unlock annual ROM production of 10Mt (about 8Mt above current early-mining levels) over a 20-year open cut mine life, with high CV coal (>6400 kcal/kg). The Coal Resource also includes an underground area. Whitehaven names Vickery among its core near-development assets; life of mine 20+ years.
