Hybrid open-cast and hydraulic mineral sands mine located south of Mtunzini in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Property covers 3,810 hectares of active mining rights. Heavy mineral concentrate is trucked 50 km to the Central Processing Complex in Empangeni for separation and smelting into titanium slag and pig iron. A Phase 2 expansion was recently commissioned to maintain production rates, increasing mining and processing to about 16 Mt per annum.
