Highland Valley Copper Operations (HVC) is Canada's largest copper mine, located in south-central British Columbia. Mining occurs at the Lornex, Valley, Bethlehem and Highmont pits and is supported by an SAG and ball-mill concentrator. On July 23, 2025 Teck's Board sanctioned the HVC Mine Life Extension (MLE) project, which will extend the operation from 2028 to 2046 with average copper production of ~132 ktpa over the life of the mine. HVC MLE total project capital cost is estimated at C$2.1-2.4 billion (2025-2028); 2025 spend was C$330 million; 2026 capex guidance is C$900M-C$1.2B. Higher Lornex feed contributed to higher 2025 grades and recoveries.
