Description
As at 31 December 2025
SandRidge's primary growth play, in the Pennsylvanian-age Cherokee Formation of the Western Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma, where increased horizontal activity has made the formation a prolific producer. The Cherokee is comprised of mostly self-sourcing shales with interbedded high-porosity sands, ranging in depth from ~8,500ft at the basin's northern edge to >13,000ft basinward with thickness from 400ft to >2,500ft. SandRidge entered the play through the August 2024 Cherokee Play Acquisition and is executing a planned development program; in 2025 five operated and four non-operated wells were drilled and turned online, converting 4.7 MMBOE of proved undeveloped reserves to proved developed at a cost of US$43.7 million. Reserves and production for the play are reported within the consolidated Mid-Continent totals.
