Description

Nouveau Monde Graphite's flagship open-pit natural flake graphite mine near Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Québec, designed to feed the company's downstream battery-anode strategy. A 2025 Feasibility Study (BBA Inc.) supports mineral reserves with a cut-off grade of 2.20% C(g), a strip ratio of 1.16:1, 93% metallurgical recovery and a graphite concentrate at 97% C(t). Mining is by conventional drill-and-blast on 10 m benches with diesel hydraulic excavators and 60-tonne trucks, with tailings segregated into non-acid-generating and potentially-acid-generating streams, filtered and co-disposed with waste rock on a lined platform. The project is advanced as a low-carbon, largely electrified operation. Reserve economics assume a graphite concentrate selling price of $1,334/t and a 2% royalty.
