Description
High Pressure Acid Leaching complex on Obi Island producing mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) and nickel-cobalt battery materials from limonite ore, comprising PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (3 production lines, operating since 2018, 55,000 t/yr) and PT Obi Nickel Cobalt (3 production lines, all operating since August 2024, 65,000 t/yr including 7,500 t cobalt). Combined nameplate capacity is 120,000 tonnes per year of nickel-cobalt compound, including 14,250 tonnes of cobalt, with a lower carbon footprint than RKEF processing.
