Description
As at 25 June 2008
Uranium-molybdenum deposit located in the Gulf Savannah region of Queensland, approximately 270 km southwest of Cairns. Property comprises a mineral development license granted in August 2021 for a five-year term. Mineralization is hosted within the Gilberton Formation sediments and underlying metamorphic basement, with uranium and molybdenum minerals occurring as groundmass replacement and fracture filling. Originally discovered in 1971, the project was explored by Getty Mining Pty Ltd until 1979. An updated exploration model is being prepared with a drill programme expected in late 2025/early 2026. Key risks include the Queensland government's historical anti-uranium mining policy.
