Description

100%-owned open-pit volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) silver-zinc-lead project in the Capire-Mamatla mineral district, part of the broader Zacualpan Mining District, located 16 km southwest of the Guadalupe Production Centre, Guerrero, Mexico. VMS mineralization is predominantly silver-rich with zinc and lead credits occurring in small massive sulphide lenses enveloped in disseminated mineralization. Infrastructure includes a 200+ tpd pilot plant, tailings dam and open pit mine. Test open pit commissioned and pilot plant constructed in Q2 2013; operations suspended February 2014 due to low silver prices and low silver grades. Currently on care and maintenance; management evaluating restart with focus on XRT/AI ore-sorting technology to upgrade mineral feed and reduce processing costs and tailings. NI 43-101 inferred mineral resource estimated by Mine Development Associates (MDA), Reno, Nevada in 2016 at US$30/t cutoff within an optimized pit shell.
