Wholly owned copper operation in Gila County, Arizona, 90 miles east of Phoenix. Porphyry copper deposit with leachable oxide and secondary sulfide mineralization; ore processed since ~1915 by flotation and leaching. Miami is no longer mining ore and currently produces copper by leaching material already placed on stockpiles; SX/EW plant design capacity of 200 Mlb/yr. FCX also owns and operates the >100-year-old Miami smelter at the site (modelled as a separate processing-facility project). Operation encompasses ~20,400 acres. Net PP&E $13 million.
