Wholly owned open-pit primary molybdenum mine 13 miles northeast of Leadville, Colorado, at the top of Fremont Pass. Porphyry molybdenum deposit with molybdenite as primary sulfide. Placed on care and maintenance by its previous owner in 1995; recommenced commercial production in 2012 under FMC. 25,000 t/d mill with capacity to produce ~30 Mlb/yr molybdenum; majority of concentrate shipped to FCX's Fort Madison, Iowa processing facility. Mountainous site (~4,050 m highest bench); ~15,100 acres of fee lands. Net PP&E $1.4B. Together with Henderson holds 16% of FCX's consolidated P&P molybdenum reserves.
