One of the world's largest nickel deposits. Located on Halmahera Island, Indonesia. Open-air mining of oxidised nickel ore (lateritic weathering). Contract of Work valid until 27 February 2048 (may be extended/renewed). Produces low-grade nickel ore for hydrometallurgical (Limonite) and pyrometallurgical (Saprolite) plants. JV with Tsingshan. Ore Reserves dropped 24% in 2025 due to cut-off grade changes (now 0.8-1.0% Ni for limonites, 1.0-1.2% Ni for saprolites). 16-year LOM from Jan 1 2026.
