bp-operated offshore gas and LNG development straddling the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal — one of seven major projects started up in 2025. bp safely loaded the first LNG cargo for export in April 2025 and delivered 19 cargoes by year-end, holding 100% offtake rights. Phase 1 includes one of Africa's deepest subsea structures, with wells in water depths up to 2,850 metres (9,350 feet).
