Underground mining complex located in Boone County, West Virginia. The Checkmate Powellton mine commenced production in December 2023 producing High-Vol. B met coal from the Powellton seam. The complex was temporarily idled in November 2024 due to a softening in the met coal pricing environment and relatively higher costs during the start-up period.
