The Jiama Project is a large copper-gold polymetallic skarn-porphyry-hornfels deposit in Metrokongka County, Tibet Autonomous Region (~68 km east-northeast of Lhasa), held 100% by China Gold International through Tibet Huatailong Mining Development Co., Ltd. (Huatailong). Phase I (Tongqianshan and Niumatang open cut pits) reached commercial production in September 2010; Phase II expansion (Jiaoyan and South open pits + underground mine) reached commercial production July 1, 2018, lifting design capacity to 50,000 tpd. Following a March 2023 tailings overflow incident, Phase II processing resumed May 30, 2024 at 34,000 tpd, with full 50,000 tpd capacity restoration pending a tailings storage facility upgrade. Mining licence number C5400002011113220119758 valid October 13, 2023 to October 13, 2043. 2025 exploration completed 1,254 m³ of pit exploration, 4,870 m of underground drilling and 25,450 m of surface drilling. Cumulative drilling since rights consolidation totals 297,720 m across 41 holes. The Bayi Ranch peripheral exploration area defined 2 gold, 1 zinc and 1 molybdenum mineralisation zones in 2025.
