SCC's Peruvian smelting and refining complex at Ilo, Moquegua. The smelter (modernized 2007) uses an ISASMELT furnace, converters and anode furnaces to produce 99.7% copper anodes from Toquepala and Cuajone concentrates delivered by rail; nominal installed capacity 1,376,050 t of copper concentrate per year. Anodes feed the adjacent refinery; surplus anode production is sold to other refineries worldwide. 2025 investments included the sheet stripping machine and permanent cathodes refurbishment ($12.8M), cooling pump replacement ($9.2M) and electric cogeneration project ($7.0M).
