McPhillamys

Large undeveloped open-pit gold deposit. Located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, approximately 250 km west of Sydney near the town of Blayney. A Section 10 declaration under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act 1984 was made over part of the approved project site in August 2024, rendering the project unviable in its current form. The company withdrew the 1.89 Moz of Ore Reserves previously declared and is undertaking formal legal proceedings in the Federal Court challenging the decision.
