Single underground steelmaking coal mine. Located approximately 20 miles east of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, accessed via State Route 59 with rail transportation provided by CSX and river transportation on the Black Warrior River. Property comprises approximately 49,000 total acres, including 8,600 acres of leased mineral holdings. Acquired in April 2016 following the idling of the mine by Walter Energy in 2015. Preparation plant has a capacity to process 1,300 raw metric tons per hour and utilizes a skip system and ultrafine coal recovery system.
